EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING” (Quote from Gro Harlem Brundtland, former Norwegian Prime Minister and `Mother´ to the UN Brundtland Report)

Using wood as a material and metaphor for how everything is connected, the exhibition Everything is connected to everything explores how the objects we surround ourselves with, the spaces we live in create us and the life we breathe and live.

What spaces of possibility and new realities lie in the gaps and non-binary realities between our professional and private lives? Between body, space and object? Between art and craft? Between humans and everything that surrounds us? Between what we have traditionally valued and the new values that are emerging?

The exhibition invites us to reflect on our relationship to the materials and objects that surround us and how these shape our lives and identity. Everything is connected to everything.

The exhibition draws attention to the common denominators and themes that connect us across traditional boundaries between art, design and craft.

Like ANNA RIKKINEN'S jewelry that transcends its traditional role as body adornment and becomes something more: an extension of both the person and the space they inhabit, where the jewelry enters into a new dialogue with its surroundings and the body, when no longer worn.

ANNE BRANDHØJ also explores this space between function and aesthetics. With her “On Balance” series, she transforms discarded pieces of wood into shelves and pedestals, giving traditionally “supporting elements” a sculptural and intrinsic value. By combining different types of wood and shapes, she creates unique compositions where curves meet edges and contrasts become cohesion. Brandhøj's works invite us to reconsider how the inherent value of materials can transcend the traditional roles of objects and influence the spaces we live in.

Focusing on the dissolution of binary structures, power, and industry, ANDERS AARVIK works at the intersection of art and technology. His project “Plastic Connections” is an ever-changing installation consisting of objects he finds in their local environment. By incorporating found objects, waste and upcycling principles, Aarvik explores how materials and spaces (physical, mental and digital) interact with each other and how we arrange ourselves in those spaces.

In her series “Cast Away”, CHRISTINE BUKKEHAVE explores the transformative power of the sea by combining ancient amber with driftwood from shipwrecks. Bukkehaves creates narratives that remind us of the hidden values of what was once discarded and our connection to the cycles of nature.

JOSEFINE RØNSHOLT SMITH also incorporates recycled materials such as zinc and wood into her jewelry to challenge our conventional perception of value in these objects. Her works combine industrial methods with traditional craft techniques and focus on identity, representation and belonging. From the perspective of a person with cultural duality, she creates new symbols and totems that explore our connection to the objects we surround ourselves with and the stories they carry.

Through graphic works such as “A wound, a portal”, METTE BORUP KRISTENSEN creates visual portals that mirror inner transformation processes. Her practice is at the intersection of visual art and nature spirituality, and she seeks to restore the connection to nature that many have lost. Kristensen's works act as physical anchors in a world of change, inviting us to reflect on our place in the larger context.

The collaboration between ANDREDOTTIR & BOBEK results in works that move between furniture and sculpture. With “Illusion” they combine the traditions of wooden furniture and Cire Perdue casting by transferring the structure of wood to new materials. The pieces work both functionally and as investigations of our perception, inspired by the phenomenon of “Motion After Effect”, where stationary objects appear to move. Through this, they challenge our perception of the boundaries between the tangible and the perceived, between object and space.
